The City of Ingleside says a Bluebonnet Run is held each March at Live Oak Park, at the height of the bluebonnet season. The Lions Club sponsors it.

Portland's own calendar fills in the rest of the season. Two music series run in the warm months. Portland lists a Summer Concert Series among its events for June and July, along with Dive-In Movies and a Father's Day Swim in June and Christmas in July. Ingleside's Music in the Park runs from July through September at N.O. Simmons Park.

Fall

Ingleside Fire Rescue holds its fishing tournament in September. The city says it is held every year and that it supports the town. Portland lists Kidz Katch and Pooch-A-Palooza H2O for September.

In October, the Bob Richardson Fire and Safety Expo falls on the third Saturday. The city calls it a fun way for the whole family to learn safety. Portland lists the Boo Bash, the Boo Bash Triathlon and National Night Out among its October events. The Boo Bash is a free festival with games and a trick-or-treat trail. Portland lists its Great Pumpkin Float at Sunset Lake Park among its October events, and visitors bring an already carved pumpkin. The city's December list includes Christmas on the Coast, a Christmas Tree Forest, a Tree Lighting Ceremony, a Holiday Market, Breakfast with Santa and a Parade of Lights. In February, it lists Take Your Child to the Library Day and a Father Daughter Dance.

Birds

Live Oak Park has a fresh water lake that is home to a variety of birds, and the City of Ingleside says it sits on the migration trail through the area. The City of Portland says the nature boardwalks at Sunset Lake Park give naturalists a view of hundreds of species of birdlife.
